Our purpose and commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is increasingly important to our attendees and exhibitors, as well as to our market as a whole. Running an event with such an international audience gives us ample opportunity to improve our impacts environmentally, socially and economically in Miami.

We are committed to F&B@Sea's positive impact on people and the planet. This extends to helping improve the sustainability of all the sectors the cruise industry touches by connecting people with the networks and knowledge they need to solve their biggest challenges.

Our three aims

We believe a sustainable event must be:

We aim to embed more sustainability into our brand by 2025, inspiring the cruise industry's own efforts, promoting the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

We focus on:

  • Using our content to support the
    sustainability of the cruise market
  • Inspiring sustainable efforts from our suppliers, exhibitors and stakeholders
  • Market-relevant partnerships

We aim to become carbon neutral, halve our waste and save customers more carbon than we emit by 2025 and become zero-waste and net-zero carbon by 2030 or earlier.

We focus on:

  • Reducing our event’s carbon emissions
  • Creating less waste
  • Considering the sustainability credentials of the items sourced for the event

We aim to contribute value of at least 1% of profit before tax to community groups by 2025, champion diversity and inclusion and generate tangible, measurable value for our host cities.

We focus on:

  • Doing business safely and ethically
  • Considering wellbeing and accessibility
  • Creating a positive local impact
  • Measuring our impacts

You can help support sustainability projects around the world by reducing the environmental impact of your flight. Together, we can make a difference. That's why F&B@Sea and Informa are offering you the chance to offset the emissions generated from flying to this event with the click of a button.

How does it work?

Help fund environmental projects around the world that have been independently certified as absorbing carbon or avoiding greenhouse gas emissions by selecting a carbon-saving offset below. The offset compensates for your flight's emissions by creating a carbon saving elsewhere of equivalent value.

For offsets, purchased through our event registration process, we pay all administrative fees. We do not take any fees nor do we make any profit from customers purchasing offsets.

Our events are part of Informa Markets and the Informa Group. Sustainability at Informa focuses on the long-term impacts we have on our customers, colleagues, the communities we work in and the environment.

Our stakeholders are telling us that sustainability (social, economic and environmental) is something that is no longer a nice-to-have but a necessary part of any event. We want to make sure we’re meeting those expectations and we believe that being sustainable is the right thing to do.

We also recognise that it’s not just about the way we produce our events and products but recognising that we have a role to play in providing a space to work in partnership together with our markets to inspire the sustainable development of the industries we serve. This is an ongoing process for us and we’re looking for ideas of how we can improve.

Informa's FasterForward is a structured three-part programme with ambitious commitments and a wide range of activities, covering Informa's business operations, our brands and products and our broader community impact. View the latest sustainability reports, here.

When it comes to sustainability, we’re moving FasterForward.
